To provide and sustain a quality, state-of-the-art education in mechanical engineering that enables students to develop specialized knowledge and experience required to practice as professional mechanical engineers.

Programme Educational Objectives

PEO 1:  To provide the students with Technical knowledge in mathematics and engineering fundamentals and knowledge in machine tools and mechanisms to analyze, formulate and solve real time problems.

PEO 2: To focus on basic fundamentals in the modeling software and analyzing it with prototypes.

PEO 3 : To impart the students with computing skills and ability to develop, implement creative, innovative and computer integrating solutions for meeting the global challenges and changing requirements

PEO 4: To provide students with an understanding and appreciation of the societal consequences of technology, including environmental aspects, and of the ethical issues that may arise with new technologies for balancing the economic growth of the country.

PEO 5: To inculcate the ability among the students to explore and learn by themselves, the change taking place continuously in the field of engineering and technology as part of throughout the learning process.

Programme Specific Outcomes

PSO 1: Professional Skills: To create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, renewable energy, machine tool engineering and prediction of modeling the complex engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.

PSO 2: Problem Solving Skills: To analyse complicated mechanical engineering projects with certain limitations of the human, financial, ethical and environmental factors and an understanding of risk management processes, and operational and policy implications.

PSO 3: Career and Entrepreneurship: The ability to employ recent technologies, CNC programming, and platforms.

About the Department

Mechanical Engineers move the world!

Mechanical Engineering is the discipline of engineering that applies the principles of physics and materials science for analysis, design, manufacturing, and maintenance of mechanical systems. It is one of the broadest engineering disciplines.

Academic course work and projects are designed to endow students with the ability to apply knowledge and the capability to work effectively in teams, providing leadership and technical expertise. With a solid grounding in the principles and practice of mechanical engineering, the students get a wide exposure with a perfect blend of intellectual and practical hands on training in the sophisticated equipments during their lab session that helps them to serve our society and address a variety of needs.

Keeping up to date with the latest developments and trends in the field of mechanical engineering, we have highly qualified; dedicated and experienced faculty in all streams of mechanical engineering consistently striving to provide world class education. An interactive relationship is maintained between the students and staff which enable the students to develop a sound foundation in this stream

The students are prepared for entry-level work as a mechanical engineer as well as for the post-graduate study in mechanical engineering or in another discipline, where a fundamental engineering background constitutes a desirable foundation. Our undergraduates will be ready to engage in ethical approaches to engineering, with concern for society and the changing world.

Students in our democratic, self-determined nation are becoming increasingly conscious of the need to take more individual responsibility for their education and employment. It is crucial for students to learn how to navigate today’s constantly changing world. Career development is a process that helps individuals make education, training and work related choices. It enhances the knowledge, skills and attitudes of individuals. The training is delivered through qualified leadership, diversified staffing, adequate facilities, materials, financial resources and effective management. It also provides students with opportunities to understand their own skills, strengths, their unique learning process and the world around them. This in turn will develop individual initiative and self-responsibility. The Career development (value added) courses are integrated with regular subjects within the institution.

Laboratory work is vital for improving and developing products and processes, validating designs and for gaining fundamental understanding of how materials, parts, components or systems will behave under a variety of conditions. Our primary objective is to create new theories and methodologies that enhance early phases of engineering design through novel computational technologies. Experimentation and testing are at the root of modern engineering practice. The Department is contributing its best to train the brains and hands with the aid of well qualified, experienced faculty and ultra-modern laboratories.

Industrial visits, Guest-lectures, Technical Seminars and Symposium are organized regularly in the Department.The faculty members in the department are currently doing their research work and update their knowledge by regularly attending various conferences and faculty development programs.
